South Kesteven District Council: Customising COVID-19 ARG funding to support business growth, diversification & resilience
South Kesteven District Council allocated £1.2m of it’s Central Government ARG COVID-19 Grant Allocation to create a grant scheme based around supporting new and existing businesses to diversify and enable them to be more resilient in the future.
"Councils are once again urging people to take care, particularly of those who may be more vulnerable to effects of heat. This includes people who may be older or people with heart and respiratory issues."
Step-by-Step is a Southwark Council initiative to test different approaches to managing debt to the Council – including council tax debt. Where residents volunteer to participate, the Council will immediately suspend all recovery and enforcement action for a period to allow arrangements to be set in place. Under the latest pilots, Step-by-Step also offers debtors access to free, independent debt advice available by phone or online.
Together, the Council and the voluntary and community sector delivered services that were critical to the wellbeing of homeless households during the Covid19 pandemic, and which met a wider range of need than accommodation alone.
One Public Estate: Brownfield Land Release Fund (BLRF2) July 2022
Up to £180 million Brownfield Land Release Fund (BLRF2) capital grant funding is available to all constituent English councils over a three-year period to support the release of council-owned brownfield land for housing. Applications close on 19 August 2022.
